Find your private Telegram channel ID
Private channels have no @name, so they are identified by a numeric ID that starts with -100. In most cases you do not need to find it by hand — press "Find my channels" in the project settings and Contenter fills it in automatically. Use the steps below only if that did not find your channel.
- 1 Make sure our bot @ContenterNetBot is an administrator of the channel and that at least one message has been posted after it was added.
- 2 Open the channel in the Telegram web app at web.telegram.org. If the address bar shows /c/1234567890, the full ID is -100 followed by that number, for example -1001234567890.
- 3 Alternatively, forward any message from the channel to @getidsbot or @userinfobot — the bot replies with the channel ID.
- 4 Paste the ID (it is negative and starts with -100) into the Telegram channel field in the project settings and save.
